Dennis is an outgoing 2 year old neutered male looking for his forever home! He loves attention and to explore the shelter. He is not fond of being picked up but loves pets and will rub up agaisnt you for love. Dennis can play a bit rough sometimes and would do best in a home without small kids. He is not fond of other cats, unsure on dogs.

Meet Dewey 🤍
Dewey is an estimated 1.5–2 year old Great Pyrenees who is as gentle as they come. He has been neutered, fully vaccinated, and is now starting a new chapter in his care after testing positive for both heartworms and Lyme disease.
Dewey has already begun treatment with doxycycline and prednisone, and he will be continuing a heartworm treatment protocol over the next several months. Because of this, we are looking for a foster-to-adopt home so he can begin healing in a calm, stable environment instead of remaining in the shelter during this important recovery period. We will cover all heartworm-related medications and treatment costs.
Dewey is a shy, soft-natured boy who truly adores attention once he feels safe. The shelter environment is overwhelming for him, and he tends to be fearful around other dogs here. He has not shown any reaction to cats while on leash, but slow introductions would still be recommended.
Important Heartworm Treatment Requirements:
Dewey will need a very controlled, quiet lifestyle during treatment to keep him safe. Heartworm disease is treatable, but activity restriction is critical to prevent complications while the worms die off.
* Strict activity restriction (kennel rest is required): No running, jumping, rough play, or extended exercise
* Leash-only potty breaks: Short, calm walks just for bathroom needs
* No off-leash activity: He must always be supervised and controlled
* No outside living: He cannot be kept as an outdoor dog during treatment
* Low-stress environment: Excitement and overexertion must be avoided
* Multiple treatment stages: Heartworm treatment typically includes medication, a series of injections, and follow-up testing over several months
This level of care is temporary, but it is essential for Dewey’s safety and full recovery.
Despite everything, Dewey remains incredibly sweet and gentle. He is a quiet soul who is just waiting for a safe place and a kind person to help him through this healing process. In the right foster-to-adopt home, he will blossom into a loyal and deeply loving companion.

Dexter

Dexter is an active boy who absolutely loves tennis balls! He will play all day if you let him! Dexter can be a little shy and is reactive in his kennel so please don’t judge him until you are out in the yard with him playing ball. Dexter would do best with no kids or teenage kids. Dexter will need an experienced adopter. He does not react to the dogs through the fence, but we will require a meet and greet with your dog. He has not met our cats yet. He becomes very attached to his person and becomes jealous when other dogs come around. Dexter loves to run and will need a secure fence to keep him contained. Say hello to Diva! Diva loves attention from people, but does not like to share it with other animals. She will nuzzle into you for snuggles and purr. She will need to be the only cat in her forever home. If you are looking for a sweet, single companion then Diva is your girl!

Everyone say hello to Dixie! Dixie is a sweet 6-7 year old hound looking for a forever home. Dixie needs an adult only or older kid home. She does not like people or dogs around her while she eats so she will need adopters who will respect that and give her the space she needs. Would need a meet and greet with you dog. Unsure on cats. Dolly came in as a stray. We believe she is an Aussie mix. Estimated around 3 years old. Dolly has quite a bit of energy and will need room to run. She likes to chase the ball. Likes treats and attention. She does react to our dogs when inside the kennel. A meet and greet with your dog will be required. She hasn’t been around our cats yet. This handsome man is Domino! Domino came in as a stray with an injured ear. His ear is now healed and it has a special tilt to it :) He LOVES to snuggle and is very outgoing. He has not reacted to any of the cats in our shelter, has not been dog tested. He can be a little rough with his affection and give love bites, so we recommend no small children.
