Meet Smiley!

One look at Smiley and you’ll quickly figure out how he got his name! This handsome 2-year-old mixed breed has a habit of flashing the biggest submissive grin you’ve ever seen. He’ll show off every tooth in his mouth when he’s excited or happy to see you. It can catch people off guard at first, but don’t be fooled—this goofy guy is nothing but love.

Smiley is a friendly, affectionate dog who enjoys attention and being around people. He’s smart, very treat motivated, and eager to learn. He already responds well to corrections and would benefit from continued training to help him become the best boy he can be.

He gets along well with other dogs, though he can be a little enthusiastic and “in your face” when it comes to playtime. He has also tried to hump female dogs, but he listens when corrected. A meet and greet with any resident dogs is always recommended.

Smiley showed no reaction to the cats at the shelter and has been a fun, happy presence since arriving. He will need some continued work on leash manners, but with his love of treats and willingness to learn, we think he’ll catch on quickly.
